As an Island location, it is fundamental to our service driven philosophy that the Harbour Authority provides turnkey support services for all shipping and not rely on importing key services from the Scottish mainland. This is why the port as the competent Harbour Authority has under its control around the clock VTS services, its own pilot launches and 5 Class 1 pilots, 3 x 55 tonne bollard pull ASD tugs.
