Hatston terminal is Orkneys largest commercial pier, is Scotland’s longest deep-water commercial berth and is located just outside Kirkwall.
The original pier was built in 2002 and the 160 metre extension was completed in 2013. The longest berth is 385 metres and offering 10.5 metre draft. In total there is 884 metres of quay side available for multi-purpose use.
The berths are used primarily for the arrival of passenger and freight vessels, cruise ships, North Sea supply vessels and vessels supporting the marine renewables industry.
There is off quay laydown and storage facilities at the top of Hatston Pier, a secure compound and a 500 tonne fresh water facility delivering fresh water at approximately 50 tonnes per hour.
Bunkering of marine gas oil by vessel is also available at Hatston by prior arrangement with the harbour authority.
