Just as the last naval vessel has sailed from Orkney following the Battle of Jutland and HMS Hampshire Commemorations, a very busy week is ahead for cruise liner visits.


On Tuesday the Berlin will arrive at Hatston from Invergordon with 450 passengers expected. • On Wednesday the Caribbean Princess will arrive at Hatston from Greenock with 3300 passengers expected • On Thursday the Disney Magic will be back in port at Hatston with 2800 passengers on board • Friday will see the arrival of the AidaAura at Hatston carrying 1300 passengers • Saturday, the Corinthian will be in Stromness with 110 passengers and the AidaLuna will be at Hatston with 2100 passengers on board • On Sunday, Pacific Princess, a new first time caller to Kirkwall will arrive at Hatston with 670 passengers on board, and the Voyager will also arrive at Hatston carrying 560 passengers • On Sunday Le Boreal will anchor in Kirkwall bay with 264 passengers on board.

The potential visitor levels to Orkney this week from cruise are just over 11,500 and Orkney continues to be the most popular cruise ship destination in the UK. This year so far almost 20,000 cruise ship visitors have visited Orkney.
