Public notice - Changes to Harbour Charges & reminder of Vehicle Byelaws

Schedule of Charges
 
Orkney Islands Council, Marine Services would like to bring the following information to the attention of commercial and leisure boat owners and operators with regard to the 2010 Schedule of Charges: -
 
1.       All vessels over 6.0m length overall are required to submit evidence of a valid 3rd party insurance certificate for the vessel to Marines Services prior to being considered for compounded arrangements (charges). A copy of the insurance certificate must be forwarded to the Piermaster or to the Harbour Authority Building.
2.       Any vessel being stored or completing maintenance ashore on Harbour Authority Property will be charged for quay rents. (This excludes hard standing/drying out areas which have a separate charge)
3.       The compounded charges for any commercial vessel continuously occupying any berth at any OIC pier for a period in excess of 28 days shall cease and normal charges apply.
 
Commercial/Fishing boat owners are reminded that parking permits will be due for renewal from the 1st April 2010 (1 permit per boat only)
 
Vehicle Byelaws
 
Under the Orkney Islands Council, Orkney Harbour Areas (Vehicle) Byelaws 1984 vehicle drivers are reminded that: -
 
1.       No vehicle is to be left unattended or immobilised within the port premises and
2.       That only vehicle permit holders are entitled to park in the designated parking areas within the port premises and
3.       The driver or person in charge of a vehicle shall remove it from the port premises as soon as possible after the business on which it was brought thereon has been completed.
 
Any person who contravenes or fails to comply with the provision of the byelaws shall be guilty of an offence and liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding £200.00.
